The bar area offers a cozy charm with a warm ambiance, perfect for unwinding after a day out. The breakfast spread, especially the Yorkshire breakfast, comes hefty, ensuring no one leaves hungry.
Our room, Cuckoo Island, carried a lingering musty odor, with visible mold in the wardrobe and damp spots on the ceiling. Wallpaper pealed off in places, and the carpet bore conspicuous stains, making the overall environment uncomfortable. Although it was a fully booked situation, it felt like we were given a less cared-for room, especially since the shower cubicle also had mold around the edges. Dust and grime in corners were obvious, and the TV had zero signal, compounding the sense of neglect. While it didn't ruin the entirety of the trip, such inconsistencies are notable.

Pet-friendly services, large beer garden, proximity to local attractions
The lack of attention to shower drainage was shocking!!! Decor felt excessively dated, with peeling wallpaper and tired furnishings contributing to an overall underwhelming atmosphere. The noise levels were higher than expected, disrupting sleep.

had a really nice stay at the wheatsheaf inn! the bedroom was great, comfy for both short or long stays. location is spot on, with lots of cool places to eat n shop nearby. the staff were super friendly n helpful, made our stay even better. breakfast was fab too, tons of choices. loved the complimentary shortbread with all the coffee and tea bags!
The pillows were too flat and hard. also the decor feels a bit tired and could use a refresh.

The beer garden at the back was fantastic for the kids, with plenty of space to play and enjoy the sunshine. We also loved that we could easily venture out for hikes or cycling, making it a perfect spot for family bonding.
My kids wished for an indoor play area to keep them entertained during our stay.

Cozy stay with excellent food
I had a great one night stay here with very comfortable accommodations. The room was clean and tidy, and the dinner we enjoyed in the restaurant was delicious and prepared exceptionally quickly. The location is ideal for accessing the Three Peaks, making it a perfect spot for active travelers. One minor downside was the noise from a band playing in the pub below, which may not suit those looking for an early night.

Great location and yummy breakfast!
Stayed for 3 nights and loved the location right in town. Plenty of parking, which was a huge plus. The breakfast was spot on with loads of tasty options. Room was decent size and clean too. Dinner was nice, but had to wait a bit. Wish the beds were more comfy, though.

Had a blast with friends! The place had a great beer garden, perfect for hanging out and the kids loved the play equipment. We also enjoyed some hiking nearby, which was a lot of fun. The staff was nice and our room was comfy. Good value overall!
The only downside was the noise from the kitchen extractor. It made the stay a bit less relaxing than expected.

The location offers stunning mountain views, perfect for our daily walks. The breakfast was excellent, giving us the energy needed for our adventures, and even catered to Duke, our dog.
The room had some minor quirks that could be improved for better comfort.
